In order to fully implement the policy of ‘double reduction’, Anqing Foreign Language School strives to improve the teaching level of teachers while reducing the homework burden of students, and fully create an atmosphere for teachers to learn professional knowledge. Therefore, at 9 A.M. on 24th August, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Junior High Department held a subject problem solving contest.
To start with, the ability to solve problems is an important part of young teachers' professional growth and also a powerful starting point for teachers to improve the quality of classroom teaching. Thus, all the teachers attached great significance to this activity, who made full preparations before the competition, arrived on time and answered questions earnestly. What’s more, at the scene of the competition, they were meditating, writing, concentrating, or smiling. At this moment, the teachers were just like the students in the examination room, striving to hand in a satisfactory answer sheet.
The event is short but profound. To give students a glass of water, teachers should have a bucket of water. Therefore, teachers should understand the distribution of question types, the key contents of tests in addition to the ideas and steps of problem solving. Only with a clear mind can teachers better choose targeted topics to consolidate the knowledge of students, avoid the blindness of practice, and improve the effectiveness of students' learning.
As the saying goes, ‘There's still a long long way to go, yet I'll be indomitable and will spare no pains to seek and explore.’ It’s hoped that each teaching and research activity can inject new energy for teachers so that teachers can go further on the road of professional growth.
